Some Armour-brand chili is recalled

WASHINGTON, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the recall of more than 91,000 pounds of Armour-brand canned chili with beans due to a labeling error.

The FSIS said the Pinnacle Foods Group LLC of Fort Madison, Iowa, initiated the recall because the canned chili was inadvertently packaged with a plastic over-wrap that declared the product "gluten free" when it actually contains wheat. Officials said wheat is a potential allergen and poses a heath risk for people allergic to the ingredient.

Being recalled are cases containing six 15-ounce cans of "ARMOUR Chili with Beans, Original" that were distributed to retail stores in Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia.
