OTTAWA, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Canadian officials and Delstar Foods Inc. of Montreal say some Compliments and Delstar ready-to-eat deli meats may be contaminated with bacteria.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the Compliments-brand smoked beef eye of round pastrami and roast beef might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The warning also applies to Delstar-brand smoked beef eye of round and pastrami smoked beef round club pack.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes might not look or smell spoiled, but it can cause listeriosis, a foodborne illness.
The recalled deli meats were distributed in Quebec.
