Some Adams-brand products are recalled

WASHINGTON, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of spices and seasoning produced by Adams Extract and Spice LLC.

The FDA said the company initiated the voluntary recall because the products might be contaminated with salmonella from a specific lot of ground red pepper supplied by the Van de Vries Spice Corp. of New Jersey.

The recalled Adams, Rex and Carniceria-brand products were distributed in Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico, as well as through, mail order, internet sales and direct delivery. The products include cayenne pepper, brisket rub, seasoned salt, BBQ seasoning, Cajun seasoning, and pepper.
