Alba-brand dry milk products recalled

WASHINGTON, July 8 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced a nationwide recall of Alba-brand non-fat dry milk products because of possible bacterial contamination.

The federal agency said the McClancy Seasoning Co. of Fort Mill, S.C., is recalling Alba-brand instant non-fat dry milk, as well as Alba-brand creamy milk chocolate, double fudge royal, smooth vanilla bean, creamy milk chocolate and strawberry banana snack shake mixes.

The company said the recalled products contain instant non-fat dry milk supplied by the Plainview Milk Products Cooperative that might be contaminated with salmonella bacteria, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others.

Consumers may return the recalled products for a refund. Consumers with questions can contact the company at 800-434-4246.
