WASHINGTON, June 24 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of Solena-brand tortilla chips Wednesday because they might contain undeclared milk products.
The FDA said La Mexicana Inc. of Seattle initiated the recall of Solena Tortilla Chips with a "June 03, 2009" code date because they were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of the milk products, posing a health hazard for people allergic to milk.
The recalled tortilla chips, sold in clear 16-ounce bags, were distributed in Washington and Oregon.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled Solena Tortilla Chips with the June 3, 2009, code date can return the item for a refund. Consumers with questions can contact the company at 206-763-1488.
