FUD-brand cooked ham is recalled

WASHINGTON, June 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service said a Seminole, Okla., firm is recalling more than 2 million pounds of cooked ham because of a labeling error.

Sigma Processed Meats Inc. said the fully cooked ham products contain monosodium glutamate that is not declared on the ingredients label. MSG is used as a flavor enhancer, but some people have experienced adverse reactions after consuming the chemical.
