Canada recalls some blue Stilton cheese

OTTAWA, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning people not to eat Cropwell Bishop Creamery-brand blue Stilton cheese due to possible bacterial contamination.

The CFIA said the cheese product imported from England might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The cheese is sold nationally through Costco Wholesale stores.

All sizes of the "Cropwell Bishop Creamery Finest Blue Stilton Cheese" bearing a "Best Before" date "08/DE/12" are affected by the warning.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes might not look or smell spoiled, but it can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea, the CFIA said, noting pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
