WASHINGTON, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the recall of about 28,610 pounds of Zeigler-brand hot dog products due to possible contamination.

The FSIS said the R.L. Zeigler Co. Inc. of Selma, Ala., initiated the recall because the various hot dog products might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The recalled hot dog products were distributed to food service institutions and retail establishments in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee.

Consumers with questions about the recall can contact the company at 800-326-6328. A detailed list of the recalled products is available at http://www.fsis.usda.gov/News_&_Events/Recall_042_2008_Release/index.asp
