NASA announces Endeavour pre-launch events

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., Nov. 4 (UPI) -- The U.S. space agency has announced a series of events leading up to the Nov. 14 Kennedy Space Center launch of space shuttle Endeavour.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration said the15-day STS-126 mission to the International Space Station is set for a 7:55 p.m. EST lift off with live coverage provided by NASA Television.

The shuttle's seven astronauts are to arrive at the space center next Tuesday at 4 p.m. EST, with mission Chris Ferguson, the mission commander, making a brief statement.

On launch day, a blog originating at Kennedy will update the countdown beginning at 2:30 p.m. EST.

"The blog is the definitive Internet source for information leading up to launch," NASA said. "During the mission, visitors to NASA's shuttle Web site can read about the crew's progress and watch spacewalks live. As Endeavour's flight wraps up, NASA will offer a blog detailing the shuttle's return to Earth."
