WASHINGTON, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced a nationwide recall of Fresh and Crispy-brand Jacobina biscuits because of possible contamination.

The FDA said the importer of the biscuits, Everlasting Distributors Inc. of Bayonne, N.J., initiated the recall of the 3.88 ounce plastic packages because the biscuits might be contaminated with melamine.

FDA officials said consumers who have the product -- which was sold in Asian grocery stores -- should stop using it immediately and return it for a refund. Consumers with questions can contact the company at 201-823-0800.
