WASHINGTON, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of Ying Feng-brand pumpkin seeds due to a labeling error.
The FDA said the New York importer of the seeds, the Fine Land Corp. of Brooklyn initiated the recall after discovering the pumpkin seeds might contain undeclared sulfites, posing a health hazard for people sensitive to sulfites.
The recalled pumpkin seeds -- a product of China -- were sold nationwide in a 10 ounce, clear plastic package with the code "EXP 03 25 2010."
Consumers who have purchased the recalled pumpkin seeds can return them for a refund or can contact the company at 718-714-1850 for further information.
