The all-red dragonfly, known as the red grasshawk dragonfly, is the second found in the Tokyo metropolitan area, the newspaper reported.

Museum staff found the dragonfly Sept. 3. A photograph of the red grasshawk dragonfly was taken before it flew off, the newspaper said.

An expert on south-east Asian dragonflies said the dragonfly could have been swept up by a low pressure air system or could have been brought in to the country for breeding purposes and managed to escape.
