WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the voluntary recall of Margaritaville-brand lime tortilla chips due to a labeling error.
The FDA said El Matador Enterprises of Grand Rapids, Mich., initiated the recall of 13-ounce bags of Margaritaville Island Lime Tortilla Chips because they might contain undeclared whey in the spice blend, posing a health risk for people allergic to dairy products.
The recalled tortilla chips have a "Best By" date of "December 6, 2008," or earlier, and UPC 647671310122. No other flavors of Margaritaville Tortilla Chips are included in the recall.
Customers can return the chips for a refund or call the company at 877-791-6767 for information.
