Ineffective cancer drugs made effective

OTTAWA, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- The Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced the recall of Merit Selection-brand delicatessen cooked extra lean ham due to possible bacterial contamination.
The CFIA said Metro-Richelieu Inc. of Montreal is warning the public not to consume the recalled ham because the product might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The ham was distributed to stores in 4.5-kilogram logs bearing a "Best Before Date" of "OC 12" (Oct. 12, 2008). It was sold to consumers from deli counters at Metro, Richelieu, Ami and Extra stores in Quebec between Aug. 13 and Sept. 10.
