GARDEN GROVE, Calif., July 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said a California company has recalled packages of Thai basil because of a salmonella risk.

The basil, distributed by Lucky Green Trading, Inc., of Garden Grove, Calif. was grown in Mexico, a statement on the FDA Web site said Friday. It was distributed to retail stores and customers in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada June 30.

The recall was the result of a random testing by the FDA. No illnesses have been reported to date.
