WASHINGTON, May 15 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of Sweetwater Valley Farm-brand Tennessee Aged Black Pepper Cheese due to possible contamination.

The FDA said the cheese, produced by Sweetwater Valley Farm Inc. of Philadelphia, Tenn., might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, bacteria that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections.

The recalled cheese, bearing lot number 616-361, was distributed through the company's retail store in Philadelphia, Tenn., and a winery in Portland, Tenn., between Dec. 27 and May 12.

Consumers can return the product for replacement or refund. Additional information is available from the company at 877-862-4332.
