Lezza-brand raspberry water ice recalled

WASHINGTON, May 5 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of Lezza-brand blue raspberry water ice due to a health risk.

The FDA said Cedar Crest Specialties Inc. of Manitowoc, Wis., recalled the product after determining it might contain milk protein that isn't listed as an ingredient, thereby posing a risk to consumers who are allergic to milk allergen protein.

Water ice is similar to Italian ice, which is a frozen desert made from syrup flavoring or fruit purees.

Consumers may return the product to the place of purchase to receive a refund. Consumers with questions or concerns can contact Cedar Crest Specialties Inc. at 866-233-2788.
