Former head of MIT math department dies
Chester Spell, an associate professor of management at the Rutgers School of Business, Camden, predicts depression and anxiety will reach new levels among those employees, the university said Friday in a release.
Spell said existing research finds workers in remote Australian mining towns and Antarctic stations experience higher levels of depression.
Spell -- who presented his research during the Rutgers Symposium on Lunar Settlements in New Brunswick this month -- said "studies to date suggest that the link between isolation and worker mental health may be a critical one for a lunar base."
