Mislabeled pork egg rolls are recalled

WASHINGTON, June 19 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced the recall of 2,762 pounds of pork egg rolls because they are mislabeled.

The Pampanga Foods Co. Inc. of Anaheim, Calif., issued the recall because the product label does not identify egg and bleached wheat flour -- both known allergens -- as ingredients, thereby posing a health risk to individuals sensitive to those allergens.

Recalled were 14-ounce packages of "Pampanga Pork (Cured) Lumpia Egg Roll, Shanghai Brand." Each label bears the establishment number "EST. 0405A" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The recalled pork egg roll products were distributed to retail establishments and distribution warehouses in California, Florida, New Jersey and New York.
