
CYBERJAYA, Malaysia, June 20 (UPI) -- Lucent Technologies and KUB-Fujitsu Telecommunications will be providing products and services to Telekom Malaysia Berhad.
The three-year, $15 million agreement will focus on upgrading Telekom Malaysia's high-speed network, as the carrier provides fixed-line, mobile, data and broadband across the country.
KUB-Fujitsu is a subsidiary of KUB Malaysia Berhad, a telecommunications manufacturer, and will provide installation services as well as on-site technical support and overall project management. Meanwhile, Lucent World Services will be the network integrator and offsite technical support.
"We want to be on the leading-edge of the next-generation curve as the telecommunications needs of our customer continue to become more sophisticated," said Abdul Aziz Hj. Mohamed of KUB Telekomunikasi. "The combination of Lucent's worldwide capabilities and multi-vendor network knowledge with the regional expertise of KFT delivered a high-quality solution at a cost-effective price."
