Raytheon wins Navy communications contract

NORFOLK, Va., June 15 (UPI) -- A Raytheon subsidiary won a $31.5 million contract from the U.S. Navy to support its satellite communications system.

Raytheon Technical Services will provide support to the Navy's extremely high frequency satellite program equipment, including engineering and maintenance, over the next five years. Repair will be done at the company's Norfolk, Va., and Chula Vista, Calif., facilities. Meanwhile, engineering support will be performed at its Marlborough, Mass., and Largo, Fla., locations.

"The scope of this contract award augments Raytheon's traditional repair support for this system and allows us to integrate our engineering, technology and logistics expertise to deliver total mission support to the Navy," said Ruben Ramos, an RTSC program manager.
