Swisscom offers cheaper overseas roaming

BERNE, Switzerland, June 1 (UPI) -- Swisscom Mobile will make it about 30 percent cheaper to make roaming calls overseas from July 1.

Its Euro Passport service, available to Swisscom's Natel subscribers, will make it the cheapest overseas roaming provider among Swiss carriers, the company said.

The service will be available free of charge to subscribers. In addition, text-messaging from outside the Swiss border will be at a fixed rate regardless of location, making the billing procedure more transparent, the carrier said.
