Juniper routers used in Shanghai expansion

SHANGHAI, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- China Telecom Shanghai is using a routing platform developed by Juniper Networks for a major expansion of its core Internet Protocol network.

Juniper said in a news release that it's T-series routing platforms were being added to Shanghai Telecom's existing E and M Series equipment to keep up with the growing demand for IP-based services, such as Internet Protocol Television.

The T-series is by no means an unproven technology. Silicon Valley-based Juniper said it has been shipping the gear since 2002 and attracting customers with low total ownership cost and small footprint with a multi-terabit scale.
