AT&T wins Army contracts worth $15M

VIENNA, Va., Jan. 31 (UPI) -- AT&T Government Solutions won two contracts worth $15 million Tuesday to develop the Army's battlefield training system.

Under the first phase, called the one tactical engagement solution simulation system, which costs $5.8 million, AT&T will develop realistic war-game technologies that simulate non-line-of-sight weaponry.

The secondary contract for $9.1 million, called the combat training center objective instrumentation system, will develop a communications network to handle mobile voice, video and data traffic at the U.S. Army national training center in Fort Irwin, Calif.
