XO carried 2 billion VoIP minutes in Q4

RESTON, Va., Jan. 19 (UPI) -- XO Communications said Thursday its fourth-quarter Voice over Internet Protocol traffic increased 22 percent to more than 2 billion minutes.

Virginia-based XO called the jump a "phenomenal" response to increased VoIP deployment and predicted continued strong growth for the Internet telephony technology.

XO reported that more than 2,500 business customers had signed up for its XOptions Flex plan since it was introduced last April.
