Siemens extends cell-phone use to pay fees

MUNICH, Germany, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Siemens said those in parts of Germany will be able to pay for all transport-related expenses via their cell phones.

The German electronics group said people in the Vogtland region of Saxony bordering the Czech Republic will be able to use their mobile handsets to buy parking tickets. Currently, they can buy bus and train tickets via cell phones.

The latest Siemens system will allow drivers not to worry about having small change, and they will be able to pay for extended meter use through their phones.
