New theory addresses frozen Earth paradox

MOSCOW, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Russia's largest wireless phone operator continued its consolidation program Friday by acquiring the remaining stake in ReCom.
Mobile TeleSystems said it paid $110 million for an additional 46 percent of ReCom, a mobile GSM-900/1800 operator based in central Russia. MTS now owns 100 percent of ReCom and its subscriber base of 2.7 million.
MTS and its stable of subsidiaries now have a subscriber base of more than 54 million in Russia and surrounding republics.
