AsiaInfo to buy Changjiang's telecom unit

BEIJING, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- AsiaInfo said Friday it will buy out the telecommunications unit of Changjiang Technology Development.

"This acquisition will further strengthen our position as one of China's leading telecom software solutions providers, specifically increasing our overall share in the China Unicom market,' said AsiaInfo Chief Executive Steve Zhang.

AsiaInfo is listed on the Nasdaq exchange. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
