Vodafone gets license from Intertrust

LONDON, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Vodafone said Wednesday it has a licensing agreement with Intertrust Technologies for mobile digital rights management-based services.

The British mobile-phone group will get a patent license from Intertrust of Sunnyvale, Calif., that covers Vodafone services that use open mobile alliance digital rights management.

"DRM is an important technology for protecting and managing content and will allow Vodafone to provide rich content services to its subscribers," Guy Laurence, consumer marketing director of Vodafone, said in a news release.

Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
