LONDON, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- British Telecom is offering free iTunes to new broadband customers who sign up for service by Oct. 23.
New BT Broadband or BT Yahoo! Broadband customers can download any 40 tracks of their choice from Apple's online music store at no cost and will also receive a $27 coupon toward the purchase of an iPod, Mac World U.K. reported.
"Broadband has been critical for the growth in digital music in the U.K. and we are pleased we can offer more to music fans thanks to the iTunes Music Store," said Gavin Patterson, BT group managing director.
"The combination of iPod and the iTunes Music Store is a smash hit in the U.K.," said Eddy Cue, Apple's vice president of applications. "BT's promotion will get iTunes into the hands of even more music fans, along with free songs from the world's most popular online music store."
