BT to slash broadband prices by 30 percent

LONDON, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- British Telecom has announced significant wholesale price cuts to its broadband services.

BT's wholesale SDSL, which provides two-way high-speed Internet access, will be 30 percent cheaper in 2006. The SDSL service is resold to individuals and firms by a variety of Internet service providers.

"The lower prices for symmetric broadband will make the service a more attractive option for a wider cross-section of UK broadband users," BT said in a statement.
