
SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 22 (UPI) -- Yahoo! appointed a Hewlett Packard executive Friday to join its board of directors.
The Internet search-engine company of Sunnyvale, Calif., appointed HP's executive vice president for imaging and printing Vyomesh Joshi to its board.
"VJ's outstanding reputation, deep understanding of technology and long-standing leadership at HP will be a tremendous asset to our team and Yahoo!'s long-term growth goals," Terry Semel, chairman and chief executive officer of Yahoo!, said in a news release.
With Joshi, the Yahoo! board now consists of 10 members, including Semel; Jerry Yang, co-founder and Chief Yahoo; Roy Bostock, chairman for the Partnership for a Drug-Free America; Ron Burkle, founder and managing partner of The Yucaipa Companies; Art Kern, a founder and former CEO of American Media; Eric Hippeau, managing partner of Softbank Capital Partners; Ed Kozel, managing member of Open Range Ventures; Gary Wilson, chairman of the board of directors of Northwest Airlines, and Robert Kotick, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Activision Inc.
