Two more cases of Legionnaires in Norway

FREDRIKSTAD, Norway, May 29 (UPI) -- Health officials in Norway said despite two new cases of Legionnaires' Disease having been confirmed, the outbreak is under control.

One of new cases may be transferred to an Oslo hospital, to free up space at Fredrikstad's Ostfold Hospital where the disease originally broke out, reported Aftenposten Sunday.

Stian Lindbol, of Ostfold Hospital, said the move would help if more patients needed to be put on a respirator in Fredrikstad.

Health officials told the hospital to be prepared for more cases.

"We hope the number of those testing positive to the disease will decline," said Lindbol.

The new cases bring to 44 the number of people diagnosed with Legionnaires' Disease -- five people have died and three remain on life support.
