Nokia helps Taiwan Mobile's 3G network

ESPOO, Finland, May 25 (UPI) -- Cell phone giant Nokia of Finland said it is helping Taiwan Mobile start up its third-generation communications system.

Taiwan Mobile, which is the country's private mobile operator with more than 6 million subscribers nationwide, launched its latest calling network Wednesday, and Nokia said it will be helping the company by sharing its own 3G technologies but also help provide handset customization and mobile content development.

"Nokia is committed to support Taiwan Mobile in introducing more innovative and fun mobile services to Taiwan, backed by Nokia's extensive practical experience of implementing mobile services for operators," the company said in a news release.
