MOSCOW, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Russia is planning to set up a new body to combat chemical and biological health hazards, Interfax news agency said Tuesday.
The Russian Health Ministry has submitted a number of documents to the government seeking a governmental commission for biological and chemical safety, Russian Chief Epidemiologist Gennady Onishchenko said.
"The Health Ministry has submitted a number of documents to the government, some of which call for creating a governmental commission for biological and chemical safety," Onishchenko, who also heads the federal service for oversight in the area of consumer rights protection and citizens' well-being, told the first international conference on molecular medicine and biological safety.
