New theory addresses frozen Earth paradox
MOSCOW, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- The crew of the International Space Station is not in danger of running out of oxygen, Russian controllers said Friday.
Gennady Padalka and Michael Fincke are breathing oxygen from reserves aboard the station, Itar-Tass reported.
Meanwhile, the station's electronic oxygen generating system has been switched off for repairs, something that happens with some regularity, officials said.
On Saturday the crew will replenish the "breath mixture reserves" in the inhabited part of the station from reserves in the Progress cargo craft docked with the station.
Padalka and Fincke can also use emergency oxygen generators capable of supplying oxygen for more than a month, Moscow's mission controllers said.
