ATLANTA, June 4 (UPI) -- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta has lifted its ban on adoptions from the Zhuzhou Child Welfare Institute in China's Hunan Province.

The CDC instituted its adoption ban April 16 when it discovered the children's home was suffering from an outbreak of measles.

Chinese health authorities reported last week they had completed a successful vaccination campaign and no additional cases of measles had developed for 21 days. Accordingly, the CDC recommended Thursday the resumption of standard adoption procedures.
