NASA urged to create shuttle escape system

WASHINGTON, March 25 (UPI) -- The panel that oversees NASA's safety issues said Tuesday the agency should develop a crew escape system for the space shuttle. There should be a way for astronauts to escape from the shuttle at virtually every point in the flight, something not possible in the existing vehicles, panel members said.
