FDA issues new MS drug warning

WASHINGTON, March 14 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration warned Friday about possible severe side effects from Avonex, a drug used to treat multiple sclerosis. The FDA and Biogen, the drug's manufacturer, agreed on new label information about risks of mental disorders, particularly among patients with prior histories of psychiatric problems.
