FDA proposes rules to boost patient safety

WASHINGTON, March 13 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration proposed two new rules Thursday to improve patient safety. One would require bar-coding on drug labels and the other would broaden drug reaction reporting, changes experts said could prevent some mistakes but should be accompanied by further actions to minimize human error.
