BERKELEY, Calif., Feb. 6 (UPI) -- New research shows transgenic cotton crops in India have yielded almost double the raw cotton and reduced the need for pesticides. The new strain could help small-scale farmers in developing countries be more competitive, but might hurt others who cannot afford to stay in the market, researchers said.
