Long recovery from mass extinction seen

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., Jan. 21 (UPI) -- NASA Tuesday unveiled a national program to recruit three to six teachers to join the astronaut corps next year. Barbara Morgan, who trained as a backup to Challenger crewmember and Teacher-in-Space Christa McAuliffe, is the agency's first Educator Astronaut, and is scheduled to fly in November.
