Cocaine causes permanent brain damage

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Using cocaine appears to lead to permanent damage and destruction of the brain cells associated with the "high" it produces, researchers reported Wednesday. Using tissue samples from autopsies, the researchers found levels of several critical brain chemicals were significantly lower in cocaine users than control subjects.
