Record year for Greenland ice sheet melt

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- New studies on atmospheric, marine and terrestrial changes at the earth's poles suggest that the planet may be entering a period of rapid climatic transition. While the jury is still out on whether humans are causing the present period of global warming, significant new findings confirm the earth is experiencing an unprecedented rate of change.
