Astronomers uncover planet in dust disc

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Astronomers probing swirling discs of dust around nearby stars hit cosmic paydirt with the discovery of an extrasolar planet about one-tenth the size of Jupiter. Previously, all extrasolar planets have been discovered by studying their effects on their mother stars, a technique ill-suited for planets much smaller than Jupiter.
