Human cloning banned in S. Korea

SEOUL, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- The cloning of human cells would be strictly prohibited in South Korea next year under a new bill finalized by the government on Tuesday despite protests of scientists and medical research activists. South Korea has no effective rules on cloning, which touched off fears the country could be used as a safe harbor for the controversial research.
