Docs outline artificial vision progress

WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Artificial vision devices -- prostheses that may allow the blind to see -- have stepped beyond science fiction and are already being tested in animals, researchers at a blindness prevention symposium reported Monday. The early sight-restoring devices might be ready for human use within a decade.
