Docs claim to finding smoking-SIDS link

BERLIN, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Researchers suggested Tuesday they know why cigarette smoking is a risk factor for sudden infant death syndrome, known commonly as SIDS. At the European Society of Cardiology annual meeting, doctors said animal research shows newborns exposed to carbon monoxide, a major component of cigarette smoke, can develop abnormal and potentially deadly heart rhythms.
