Canadian study fuels mammogram debate

TORONTO, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Canadian and American studies released Monday reach different conclusions about the benefit of annual mammograms for women in their 40s. The Canadian study reported no benefit, while the American study showed a 15 percent mortality reduction but experts were critical of how the Canadian research was conducted and downplayed the results.
