Researchers working on 'gecko glue'

PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Researchers have taken the first steps in creating a "gecko glue" modeled after newly discovered geometric patterns at tips of tiny hairs on the climbing critters' feet. Geckos can race up a smooth glass wall at about a meter per second and support their entire body weight by a single toe. Their secret power lies not in chemistry but geometry, researchers report.
